    Description

    Here we have a
Tektronix TMA802 Media Analyzer /Cable Tester
The Teektronix TMA802 Media Analyzer is used to monitor the traffic load and detect faults on LANS ( Local Area Networks) It can operate in Three User Selectable modes.
    Standalone, Scope and Monitor.
It is fully working and tested, but because the battery for this has been difficult to get , it has been converted to use with a wall adapter only. If a suitable battery comes available , (16VDC ) then it can, at some point ,be converted back.
I have used this over the years to mainly find breaks in cables. It will tell me where a fault is in Feet/Meters etc. Makes life so much easier and works with 50,75 and 100 Ohm cables.
In Standalone mode it can report the status of cables. eg... "SHORT 00,615Ft." or "OPEN at 00,398Ft" ...
With a scope attached it can generate a complete graphical representation of the LAN cable...faults etc..... Scope not supplied.
Monitor mode provides a direct indication of network activity .....
It does so much more, too much to list here.
I am providing it with the AC adapter , to plug into the wall, Service manual and the cable shown.
Please see pictures for cosmetic condition.
The only cosmetic thing is that the Handle, stand, is not connected properly on one side and has to be pulled out to move the handle around.
back in the day this thing would have cost you a couple of thousand dollars.... Not many are still working like this one, and ones that say they are working have no idea how to use them, so I only think they powered them up and have no idea what they do.
As with all old vintage equipment... It is sold as is with no returns. It will probably last another 30 years , but who knows.
    Thank you for looking
